Zomato Acquires TechEagle’s Drone Startup For Food Delivery: Is India Ready For Drones?

The Restaurant search and online food delivery App, Zomato is gradually trying to excel in the best possible manner. We all know it is one of the popular online food delivery apps. Despite the fact, It recently announced Zomaland, its first food and entertainment carnival. And Now, It acquired TechEagle’s drone startup which will be used for food delivery.

How TechEagle Startup Will help Zomato To Use Drone For Food Delivery?

The TechEagle is a startup by Vikram Singh Meena in 2015. Its primary focus is on making aerial vehicles specifically drones. The drone is capable of carrying up to 5 kg payload. Now, The online food delivery App acquires Lucknow-based startup for introducing Zomato drone for food delivery.

It aims to develop a hub-to-hub delivery network powered by hybrid multi-rotor drones. The company will first run a pilot in Delhi NCR and then scale it to other cities.

Deepinder Goyal, Zomato founder and CEO says, “We are currently at the early stage of aerial innovations and are taking baby steps towards building a tomorrow wherein users can expect a drone to deliver the food they ordered online”.

Will Zomato Drone For Food Delivery Will Be A Success In India?

As per the reports, Zomato is confident about overcoming the geographical challenges that India poses—for instance, the complex address system or delivery venue located in a narrow lane.

Drones are believed to be a highly useful technological disruption for India not only for recreational purposes but also for application in agriculture, commercial, industrial and military requirements. Along with the pros, there are many cons too. But All of us waiting to see how tactfully Zomato manages to introduce Drone for food delivery with the help of acquired TechEagle’s startup.
