Mobile World Congress is the giant tradeshow of the year when it comes to phones. The next installment – ‘MWC 2019’ – is a matter of a few days. The show has always been the place to see all the big phone launches. But it seems a little different this year, as Samsung has decided to have its own unpacked event right before the biggest trade show. This means you will see Samsung Galaxy S10 series before the other brands could launch something new.
But this surely doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of other phones to get excited about, though. As a reminder, MWC 2019 kicks off in Barcelona on February 25 and runs through to February 28.

LG G8 ThinQ With Sound Emitting Display
LG has not stopped trying out crazy experiments. Its upcoming phone – LG G8 ThinQ – is said to feature a whole new type of display called Crystal Sound OLED. This type of OLED will make the entire screen vibrate to produce sound. Will it blast audio while taking calls too – on our faces?
That, in turn, might allow the South Korean giant to shrink or eliminate the top bezel, though renders show it sporting a notch with a dual-lens front-facing camera. LG has, however, announced to launch a phone at MWC 2019 but it’s not yet confirmed which particular device it is talking about. If it is not G8 ThinQ then will it be LG V50 ThinQ, which will support 5G connectivity?
Xiaomi Mi 9: Flagship Features At Affordable Pricing?
The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer – Xiaomi – is well known for budget smartphones. Xiaomi is one of the famous and successful brands – even when it hasn’t launched any mainstream flagship phone yet. But this year, in MWC 2019, It might change.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 is likely to feature Snapdragon 855, huge near-bezel-less display, a giant battery, and triple camera setup. Price is something which will make it more interesting. Let us see how Xiaomi manages pricing strategy for its upcoming ‘flagship’ device. It will definitely give tough competition to all other brands who offer the same set of features for 60K and above. Sony Xperia XZ4 With Tall Display: Model Being Prepared To Walk On The Ramp?
In the last one or two years, we have seen smartphone manufacturers opt for a taller display on their devices. Last year, The smartphones either had 18:9 or 19:9 (notched ones), breaking the 16:9 threshold. Now, Sony has some crazy plans for Xperia XZ4 – display 21:9 aspect ratio – likely to be seen at MWC 2019. Alongside, The upcoming device will feature 6.5-inch QHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 3360 x 1440 with support for HDR10 media playback.
