Motorola one Power vs Realme 2 Pro: The New Budget Kings?

Motorola one Power vs Realme 2 Pro

Both Options offer great value for money, but which one is the best? We find out in our Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro comparison

While Buying a new phone this festive season in the country, buyers often get confused because of a plethora of options available. This season is generally the busiest when it comes to phone launches and the confusion may be justified. Motorola and Realme, both have taken advantage of the season and have launched their new phones which seem very good on paper.

The Motorola One Power and Realme 2 Pro, when seen from the specification side, seem incredible offering for your money. But out of the two, which is the best buy? The Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro comparison is here to help you out.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Design

The Motorola One Power is the latest metal-clad phone to hit the market, and thus is not exciting or very different to look at, there is a notch, which just seems like an inevitable thing at this point now, and a metal design all over the phone.

The Motorola branding is on the chin, which doesn’t look bad but can get a little distracting sometimes. The Realme 2 Pro is a stunner though, in the day and age of blandly designed phones, the phone is in a league of its own. Realme has time and again surprised us with their uniquely designed phones and this one is no different.

The waterdrop style notch looks better than every other front of any phone in the segment. The bezels are very thin, which makes the phone look absolutely premium, the glass back is also a stunner. In the design department, there isn’t a phone better looking than the Realme 2 Pro in the price range.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Performance

The Motorola One Power is fuelled by the popular Snapdragon 636, which is becoming increasingly popular in the price segment. The phone is coupled with 4GB of RAM and for day-to-day use, the phone feels fast enough. Gaming on the phone is also fine, with the phone running every game available with playable frame rates and zero hiccups.

PUBG Mobile runs on its lowest settings but there is no frame drops or stutters while playing. Realme 2 Pro is a beast on paper, the phone has a Snapdragon 660 chipset inside combined with 4/6/8 GB of RAM and the performance on the device is great, with the phone feeling snappy at everything it does. Gaming on this thing is a revelation, as the games never dropped frames and lost any graphics quality.

PUBG Mobile runs on the medium settings, with stable frame rates even if you keep them at high. In performance, there is no phone like the Realme 2 Pro in the segment, and the only ones matching it or surpassing it are the Poco F1 and the Honor Play, which are considerably higher.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Software

Motorola has been known to put almost stock android like experience in its devices and the Motorola One Power is no different. The phone runs Android One, on the Android 8.1 Oreo which guarantees stock Android experience and fast updates. The Realme 2 Pro runs ColorOS 5.2, which is an Oppo skin based on Android 8.1. While we are unsure if the Realme get timely updates, the Motorola is supposed to. We prefer clean and stock build of Android so the win here goes to Motorola.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Camera

Budget phones are not known for great cameras, and while none of these two phones has stellar cameras, they are better for what they are worth. The Motorola gets a 16+5MP shooter at the back and 12MP at the front. The Realme has given shooting duties to a 16+2MP camera while the front camera is fixed at 16MP. Daylight shots are good on both devices, with Realme doing a little over processing of the images taken.

The images generally look better on the Realme still, as the Motorola One Power takes shots which lack accurate colour reproduction. Low light shots are not great on either device, but the Realme is still the winner. Video capturing is essentially the same on both, with the Realme 2 Pro having an advantage of EIS, which produces stable videos.

The front camera on both is good for sharing on social media and doing video calls. Overall, cameras aren’t a strong suit on both devices, but the Realme 2 pro is still a better option out of the two.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Battery

Looking at the specs of these two, the Motorola’s humungous 5000mAh battery seems like the winner, and it is. The battery is great for 2 days of medium usage and you won’t be needing a charger every night.

The Realme 2 Pro’s 3500mAh battery seems pale in comparison to the One Power but is enough for a good day of use. The battery is nothing to write home about. The Motorola takes the win here.

Motorola One Power vs Realme 2 Pro: Verdict

Both the Motorola One Power and the Realme 2 Pro are great value for money devices and would keep anyone happy who buys them, you just need to know what you want and how much you’re getting.

If you want a phone with stellar battery and clean Android with fast updates, go with a Motorola One Power and you won’t be disappointed. However, if you’re looking for a phone with marvellous design, interactive software, great performance and good cameras, Realme 2 Pro is your best option to buy right now. But no matter what you buy, you would be satisfied.
