Samsung To Counter Chinese Rivals With Its Budget Galaxy M Series For The First Time In India On January 28
The Company officially confirmed the launch of the brand new series, ‘Galaxy M’ in India. The Samsung Galaxy M series is set for launch on January 28. The Company is hoping to beat Xiaomi with its new affordable series. The M-series will include devices priced up to Rs 20,000.
The company in a press release on Monday confirmed the launch date for its the long-rumored budget lineup. The Company further adds, the Samsung Galaxy M-Series smartphones are designed to attract “young millennial consumers”.
Senior Vice President Asim Warsi to PTI, the new range will help the company achieve “strong double-digit growth” in 2019.
Devices To Be Launched Under Samsung Galaxy M Series
The Company has not yet revealed the details of the devices, not even the names. However, Galaxy M10 and M20 are likely to be the first smartphones in the new series. Initially, the new series will be available on Amazon India and its own e-commerce platform.
As per the reports, M10 will feature 6.02-inch display(diagonal). The device will likely have 3GB of RAM and when it comes to storage, it could come in 16GB and 32GB internal storage options. The battery is expected to be around 3,400 mAh. Galaxy M10 price in India is expected to start under Rs 10,000. However, it remains unconfirmed.
The other expected device i.e. M20 will sport a 6.13-inch display with a water drop notch design. Other expected features on the device are Exynos 7885 SoC, 3GB of RAM and storage options of 32GB or 64GB. The phone will also have a chunky 5,000 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy M20 price in India is expected to be within a range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. Furthermore, It is likely to sport triple rear camera. On the connectivity part, both the devices will also come with a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The new series is likely to replace the J-series lineup of the brand. Further, Its remain to be seen how the renewed approach turns out to be and how the competition responds.
