Notch Trend Is Doubled Up With The Launch of Sharp Aquos R2 Compact
Sharp revealed its dual notch smartphone; Aquos R2 Compact this November after the launch of Aquos R. Its predecessor was launched with a single tiny camera notch.
Aquos R2 may be the first smartphone with two notches. Out of the two notches, one is similar to a teardrop notch in Aquos R and other is carved out at the bottom, unlike the previous smartphone.
FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS
The phone has been designed with a 5.2-inch LCD display with a screen resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Along with Snapdragon 845 processor, it is packed up with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. 64 GB storage accompanies expandable memory of 512GB via a microSD card. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie.
Aquos R2 measures 131 x 64 x 9.3 mm (5.16 x 2.52 x 0.37 in) and weighs 135 g (4.76 oz).
It has a battery of 2500 mAh which could have been better but it provides fast charging support via the USB-C port.
As far the camera is concerned, This smartphone sports a 22.6-megapixel (f/1.9) primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) front camera.
Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C are the connectivity options provided by this smartphone.
The Price of this new smartphone is not revealed yet. It will be made available through Softbank from January next year in Japan.
It has onboard sensors like Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensor.
This will be launched in three color variants; Smokey Green, Deep White, and Black in Japan next year. till now there are no such plans to launch in the U.S.
Aquos R2 Compact can be a slaying smartphone for Sharp, however, there is a fear that its strength might be overshadowed by double notch feature.
