Smart Partnership Makes Apple The Star Of CES 2019: Is It Really A Smart Move?

Apple is the major player which is notable for its absence in CES, The annual Las Vegas tech show. But this time in CES 2019, Apple has been all over the show even after it was not actually present. The presence was first felt while seeing a billboard which was used to undermine its rivals. Apple billboard undermining rivals

Soon as the show started, The statement on the billboard seems ironical. Just to mention the billboard reads, “What happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone” with the link; Apple.com/privacy. This was just a start- Later the brands started showcasing their TVs with Apple AirPlay support. Samsung was the first one to announce iTunes on Samsung TVs. LG and Vizio TVs will also allow iPhone users to control their sets via the Home app or even with Siri.

LG’s rollable TV will provide AirPlay support, as announced at CES 2019 by the Company.

What Is The Reason Behind Partnership Made By Apple With Brands Like Samsung, LG?

This is actually a big deal. If any other brand would have done this then it would not be this much shocking. But this was not expected from Apple. The brand which conducts events all by itself and doesn’t need any support or any kind of promotional moves. Whether it be a billboard or a partnership with Samsung the question ‘Why?’.

The move made by the brand suggests that it is about giving AirPlay a boost, to some extent. No doubt, Apple TV is a good product for customers but it is way too expensive when compared to rival brands’. Why will anyone spend $149 on Apple TV when they are getting more or less similar features at the much lesser price.

Services are really important and so is growth for the business, as Apple says. So it might be assumed that Expanding iTunes beyond Apple devices will give Apple’s premium TV service the best chance of success. Then Why After so many years?
Maybe, Apple finds it apt to jump up against its walls slowly and selectively.
