Amazon has filed for AmazonTube trademark as fight with YouTube
AmazonTube: Amazon is planning to establish a YouTube-style streaming support. Even though the trademarks do not necessarily signify the firm plans to establish a new provider, it will suggest that the corporation could be, in the least, contemplating doing this.
It would not be a total surprise if Amazon chose to challenge Google in the entertainment area. Both technology businesses have been long-time competitors. For the previous two decades, Amazon has vowed to market Google Chromecast apparatus on its site.
This streaming service could basically be Amazon’s most up-to-date weapon. These trademarks were registered on the specific same day Google announced it would eliminate its YouTube program from Amazon’s Fire TV apparatus Jan. 1. This, then, comes in reaction to Amazon withholding its Amazon Prime Video providers from Google’s Chromecast apparatus (Youtube is also unavailable on Amazon’s Echo Show apparatus).
Such functions could include, according to the filings, photographs, videos, audio, pictures, files, or publications. Amazon also claims its new product is going to be a social networking website, including “wireless telecommunications networks within the industry of online social media.”
Sound familiar? Let us be fair: We all know what is happening here. Amazon is likely planning to strike Google directly from the YouTube.
For many businesses, such as the bandwidth-starved Netflix, this type of job could be herculean. However, Amazon could be among the only firms who will pose a danger to Google’s streaming behemoth. Equipped with Amazon Web Services, its own cloud computing system, Amazon has got access to the most effective servers on earth.
Amazon has generated something of a reputation for pursuing after social networking tendencies to advertise its trade. And earlier in the year, its own Snapchat-esque picture decals, permitting users to quickly put Amazon’s products in their photographs, made us scratch our heads.
Can Amazon Tube, if it exists, be still another self-promotion thinly veiled as a social networking? Perhaps. Amazon is barely starved for movie content: The business already has a good foothold in the movie streaming distance using its Amazon Video service.
Considering that the “social networking” specification in its own filing, this service seeming more like Spark. However, for Amazon Fire TV users that will be on the lookout for a streaming repair come 2018, which may continue to be sufficient.
An opportunity to market its own content, slight Google, and retain customers hooked onto the Fire TV? Frankly, we are surprised Amazon did not jump on this earlier.
