An Adreno 640 GPU, 12GB RAM and a 6000mAH battery, Asus ROG Phone 2 is the most capable gaming phone ever

Customers were just about warming up to the idea of purchasing a dedicated gaming phone, and blam Asus ROG Phone 2 has just been dropped in your lap. Almost a year has passed since the first ROG Phone was circulated to mortals. And now the new one has an even powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus clocking at 2.84GHz to 2.96GHz and with the biggest L2 cache around. For GPU duties you get an Adreno 640 mated to a desktop-class 12GB LPDDR4X RAM for the most intense yet seamless graphical output.Asus ROG Phone 2 front thinkingtech

All that oomph requires a decent cooling setup. Asus ROG Phone 2 now has a GameCool II heat dissipation system with a breathing vent at the rear of the device. Indian audience might still need more cooling as our weather is ridiculously hot. As an accessory, you may look at the AeroActive Cooler II at the back to give you as much as 3.5degree Celcius breathing room. And don’t worry, all connectors are placed strategically so as not to interfere with your gaming experience. The display is a 120Hz OLED unit against last years 90Hz screen. With a 2340X1080 pixel resolution and HDR capability, it just about bends your mind whether you’ll ever need a gaming laptop anymore. Probably not!

The fingerprint sensor is happily on the screen now. And since now you are capable of watching HDR movies and videos on the phone it is backed by two speakers with DTS:X ultra processing. All the venerable dinosaurs (of which community I am an active part of) in the room, yes there is a 3.5mm jack for audiophiles which is the correct way. Yes, it’ll be expensive and bulky at 240g, but we definitely want to see this tower of power amongst our Indian gaming fraternity soon.
