Amazon Audible – Now Books Will Speak Up!
Amazon Audible was first announced in January 2008 with its exclusive science fiction and fantasy audiobooks. But unfortunately not in India.
Finally, after the long wait Amazon launches its audio e-books service Audible in India a few days back. It contains 200,000 audiobooks in different genres and language for Android, Amazon cloud player for PC and IOS. What you have to do is download the app and get yourself register.
Amazon Audible enables you to listen to your books when you don’t have time to read them. Amazon Echo integration helps a user to ask Alexa to read out a book for you.
These 2 lakh full-length audiobooks include 400 (approx) audible exclusive titles by Indian Authors. The recording of S Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges’s best-selling Mafia Queens of Mumbai was also released at the launch of an event which has been performed by Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, and Kalki Koechlin.
Amazon is offering its service with the 30-days free trial for new users and 90-days free trial for already registered users of Amazon Prime. Post that there are two plans; Rs 1,345 for a 6-month subscription and Rs 2,332 for a 12-month subscription.
Users can also avail 30% discount while purchasing additional audiobooks other than their monthly credits.
There are limited payment options as Amazon accepts credit cards and ICICI Bank debit cards in India. As the service is available in the Beta version so there are no wallet payment options available.
Monthly credits are offered by the company. These can be used by the user to purchase any of the audio e-books which has to be a part of Indian catalog. the best part of purchasing with help of credits is that a user can listen to it even after the subscription is over.
