During CES 2019, Dell unveils the new 2-in-1 commercial Latitude 7400 laptop. The Dell’s Latitude series is meant for office use. The Dell Latitude 7400 is sleeker than its predecessor and features a lot more new features. It is the World’s smallest 2-in-1 commercial laptop with a 14-inch screen. Not only the smallest but also the first one to feature Intel’s proximity sensor technology.

The new device equips the ‘Express Sign-in’ feature. The feature helps it to sense when someone is nearby to run authentication automatically. In fact, It automatically locks the device once you leave the desk or get away from it. Moreover, there is no need to unlock again once to get back in front of the laptop. The Windows Hello facial recognition feature activates and unlocks the recognized user. For now, This technology is exclusive for its commercial laptop. But in the later year, it is likely to feature in other devices too.

The new Dell’s 2-in-1 laptop is powered by 8th-gen Intel CPUs. Coming on to the storage front, It comes with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB m.2 NVMe storage. Further, It features a 14-inch Full HD display that has 300 nits of brightness. The laptop also supports Active Pen, which you have to buy separately.  The 2-in-1 feature enables you to use it as a tablet or fold it in a tent mode.

According to the Company, The size has been shrunk not for the sake of making it first smallest laptop but for users to keep it conveniently in the bags. If we talk about the connectivity features, It comes with two USB Type-A 3.1 ports, a standard HDMI port, two Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, SIM card slot on supported models, microSD and SmartCard reader, along with a Noble Wedge Lock slot. On the other hand, Wireless connectivity options include a Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2×2 MIMO antennas. Further, It is backed by 4-cell 52 WHr or a 6-cell 78 WHr battery.

The device has been announced at CES 2019. But The new Dell laptop will hit the market in March 2019 at a starting price of $1599 (Rs 1.13 lakhs approx).
