Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU Announced At CES 2019: Starting At Rs 24,000

At CES, Nvidia announces the launch of its new mid-tier GeForce RTX 2060. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 is the newest and the cheapest member in the RTX family.

At the press release, Nvidia says, “The RTX 2060 features a major upgrade of the core streaming multiprocessor to more efficiently handle the compute-heavy workloads of modern games. It supports concurrent execution of floating point and integer operations, adaptive shading technology and a new unified memory architecture with twice the cache of its predecessor. Modern games can utilize these features to achieve up to 2x the performance of the GTX 1060 GPU.

The new GPU will offer higher performance than a 1070 Ti, and 60 percent faster than the GTX 1060, as claimed by the Company. Moreover, the other big change is drop down in its price. Previously, the major complaint was about the high price being charged. The previous RTX 2070 starts at $500, not as faster than the previous generation though. But now, the prices have brought down to $349 (Rs 24,000 approx).

Further, Nvidia RTX 2060 features 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor Cores. It claims to deliver 52 teraflops of deep learning horsepower via a feature called Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). The new GPU has been designed to extract multidimensional features a rendered scene. Additionally, it is clubbed with multiple frames to deliver a superior image quality. As per the company, The quality matches the traditional rendering but with much higher performance.

It is based on a cut-down version of the TU106 GPU that is being used in the GeForce RTX 2070. This is notable because until now, Company has used a different GPU for each card: TU102/2080TI, TU104/2080, TU106/2070 making it the first such card in the family.

Further, These GeForce RTX graphics are coming to laptops on January 29th, according to what Nvidia says.
