Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Promises 120 fps Gaming, Could Bring To Laptop Soon?

Reportedly, Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti Could Bring Turing Power To Laptops

Nvidia launched its latest GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, a consumer-class GPU targeted at mainstream PC gamers this past Friday. Apparently, We can expect a laptop version of the graphics card to come out soon.

The potential 1660 Ti laptop GPU was spotted on the GeekBench results repository. Further, The name ‘N18E-G0’ popped up in Notebook Check’s database which is strongly suspected to be the GTX 1660 Ti-class GPU meant for laptops. The codename lines up with those for existing notebook-based graphics processors, including the RTX 2060 (N18E-G1), RTX 2070 (N18E-G2) and RTX 2080 (N18E-G3).

Unfortunately, the specs for this GPU remains a mystery. Based on assumptions, The Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti is likely to be built upon a 12nm Turing architecture and feature GDDR6 memory. However, it probably lacks any ray tracing or tensor processing cores.

Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti: New Turing-based GPU For Budget Gaming PCs

The new GPU targets mainstream PC gamers although, it is based on previous Pascal architecture. Further, Nvidia is using its latest 12th-generation Turing GPU architecture which means better performance and less power consumption. Since it is not an RTX card, you won’t get Deep Learning Super-Sampling (DLSS) or ray-tracing support.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti includes 1,536 CUDA cores, 6GB of the latest GDDR6 memory, and a 1.8GHz boost clock. The Company says it has a power envelope of 120 watts, giving the GTX 1660 Ti “the best performance per watt of any GPU in its class”. Additionally, It promises of smooth 120 fps gameplay at 1080p in popular battle royale titles like FortnitePUBG, and Apex Legends. Moreover, The new graphic card for PC is also up to 1.5x faster than the GTX 1060 6GB version.

The Company is making the latest graphic card available worldwide at a price of Rs 19,800 (approx).
