In the middle of hectic workdays, who isn’t caught daydreaming about that perfect getaway to a sun-kissed beach or an exotic city? Yet for many, taking that much-needed break remains a distant dream due to work, expenses, or travel restrictions.
Enter the new viral sensation, Endless Summer — an AI-powered app that lets you take incredible vacation photos from anywhere without leaving your home. It’s like teleporting yourself to exotic destinations but all through the magic of AI.

Created by Product Designer Laurent Del Rey from Meta’s Superintelligence Lab, Endless Summer uses Google’s Gemini Nano Banana AI to generate hyper-realistic vacation images featuring… you! By simply uploading a selfie, you get photos of yourself sipping coffee on a sunny Greek coast, wandering the streets of New York with shopping bags, or partying under Halloween lights in famous cities worldwide.
Del Rey describes the app perfectly in his X post: “When burnout hits and you need to manifest the soft life u deserve – with fake vacation pics of you :’)” — and that’s exactly what Endless Summer delivers.
The app is designed with simplicity. A tiny camera preview button lets you snap and instantly generate a vintage-style vacation photo. The app offers optional settings to auto-generate images daily and can save photos directly to your Camera Roll. Users can specify or auto-detect gender for better AI results. There’s also a fun seasonal mode that creates Halloween-themed images with you in costumes.

Trying it out ourselves and gathering reactions from our team, the feedback was mixed but mostly amazed by the quality. The AI-generated images have a charming retro vibe, as though snapped with an old film camera, adding a warmth and nostalgia to these “fake” memories.
One quirky pattern — the AI often pictures you with your phone in hand, plugged in and in use, possibly an allegory to our generation’s obsession with smartphones. The AI occasionally glitches with background text or signs, but these don’t detract from the impressive realism.
Users get three free images before encountering a paywall, with pricing starting at $3.99 for 30 images, $17.99 for 150, and $34.99 for 300 images.
The app is especially popular among users from tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India and emerging markets in Southeast Asia and Latin America. Endless Summer enables people to boldly manifest a life they aspire to — a glamorous and adventurous lifestyle they may not be able to afford just yet.
Though some may see this as escapism, there’s positivity too — these AI visions could motivate users to make these dreams real someday. And on social media, these images instantly boost engagement with fun, envy-inducing posts.

While the first three images are free, the app quickly asks users to subscribe for image packs. Despite pricing, the app remains affordable for a novelty experience. Features like “Room Service” quietly deliver fresh vacation photos every morning, extending the fun.
Apps like Endless Summer showcase the intriguing crossroads where AI meets lifestyle and social media culture — providing a creative outlet during challenging times. Yet, as mesmerizing as these AI-generated vacations are, there remains an unmatched joy in physically experiencing the world.
If anything, Endless Summer is a reminder of what our imaginations crave and a signpost pointing toward future travel hopes — plus, it makes your Instagram stories undeniably scroll-stopping.
