GoPro Fusion 360 Degree Camera: THE 5.2K RESOLUTION 360°
The new GoPro that packs a huge punch. GoPro Fusion 360 Degree camera was launched in San Mateo on 20th April 2017. It is a 5.2K spherical camera designed to be the ultimate capture device for both fully immersive virtual reality content and photo formats.
This camera is capable of capturing footage at enormous 5.2 K resolution and notice whilst looking closely into the teaser image. The GoPro Fusion comes with an OverCapture feature that lets you capture non-VR photos and videos from the 2.5K spherical video in HD-quality. The Fusion is capable for both VR and non-VR content. The camera is also small enough to use with GoPro mounts and accessories.
This lets you record in all directions and then choose the composition and angle you want for your shot during post-production, thus granting you more creative freedom when creating fixed-perspective video and high-quality still images.
“Fusion is just that, the ability to capture every angle simultaneously…as though you had six GoPro cameras fused into one,” said GoPro founder and CEO, Nicholas Woodman. “Whether filming for VR or traditional fixed-perspective content, Fusion represents the state-of-the-art in the versatile spherical capture.”
One thing’s for sure: GoPro isn’t abandoning its core fans, it looks to have found a way to sell to both people making films and experiences for VR and adrenaline junkies who don’t want to miss anything. Fusion has been a multi-team effort, and it has been amazing to work alongside incredibly talented teams to dream up a product that we feel will both address pain points as well as unlock the creativity of GoPro’s vast network of professional content creators, partners, and enthusiasts.
Other details about the Fusion are scarce: There aren’t photos showing what the camera looks from all sides, info on specs and features, or details on pricing. GoPro is currently launching pilot program for the new camera if you’re interested in being one of the first users when a limited commercial release kicks off in the summer of 2017.
