Samsung Galaxy A8s: The First Phone With An In-Display Camera Launched On December 10

After a long race between Samsung and Huawei, Samsung has finally launched the in-display camera smartphone in China today. Samsung Galaxy A8s has become the first smartphone to have a punch-hole camera. It is a mid-range smartphone with a triple camera setup.

The Infinity-O cut out has been placed on the top-left corner of the smartphone, unlike notches. Soon After Samsung, Huawei is also planning to launch Nova 4 with a punch-hole camera. 

Samsung Galaxy A8s Features And Specifications

The newly launched smartphone features a 6.39-inch full HD+ display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. 

It is backed by 3,300mAh battery. On the storage part, The smartphone comes with 6GB/8GB of RAM along with 128 GB of internal storage. It is expandable up to 512GB via microSD. On the software front, the device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Camera Features

Samsung Galaxy A8s Sports a triple camera setup on the back. The rear setup includes 10-megapixel, 24-megapixel sensor, and 5-megapixel sensor. On the other hand, the Front camera comes with a 24-megapixel sensor. 

The fingerprint sensor has been placed at the back panel of the phone. It is one of the first smartphone to skip the 3.5mm headphone jack. 

Price And Availability

As of now, No official words are given on price at which smartphone will be available. However, it will go on sale in China on December 20. 

After the release of Samsung Galaxy A8s, Samsung is working on its next flagship, Galaxy S10. As per the reports, it will debut Infinity O display same as the newly launched phone. Except for punch-hole camera, Galaxy S10 will have features different from Galaxy A8s like Exynos 9820 chip, Quad-camera setup etc.
