LG Granted Patent For A Smartphone With 16 Cameras Matrix

LG Granted Patent For A Smartphone With 16 Cameras!

Is LG really working on a smartphone with 16 cameras?
LG was among the very first smartphone manufacturers to introduce smartphones with a dual camera. Later on, smartphones with a triple camera (V40 ThinQ, Samsung Galaxy A7, Huawei Mate 20, etc.) were launched. Samsung introduced Galaxy A9 with Quad Camera setup; Three cameras were not enough I guess!

According to a new patent (by LetsGoDigital), it looks like LG is working on a smartphone with 16 cameras.

How come LG stay behind in the race of increasing cameras?
Maybe this would be the reason behind getting a patent for 16 cameras matrix.

As per the patent, The lenses will be arranged in 4×4 matrix layout at the back. The lenses can make photographs from multiple perspectives as they are placed in a certain curvature. Isn’t it interesting that you can take a photo with multiple lenses at the same time? And then choose the best photo from a series or combine the photos taken at the same time by different lenses into a moving image.

It can be quite difficult for LG to manage because there are a large number of cameras installed and that too with loads of functionalities.

There is no cent percent guarantee of successfully using the technology to manufacture a product because incorporating sixteen lenses is a huge jump by LG. Let us see how well LG manages to overcome these challenges.

We have already seen the technology on LG’s drawing board but now what we have to see is that how long it takes to bring in the market.
