Apple WWDC Event 2018

iOS 12 was the next big update in the Apple WWDC Event 2018

Yet Another edition of Apple WWDC Event 2018 keynote just wrapped up in San Jose, California. Apple announces major updates to all of its software platform during its WWDC Keynote. This year it runs on 4th– 8th June  WWDC highlights software developer workshops, training, parties, and systems administration occasions. All this begins with a keynote speech reporting significant updates to the software running on the Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and different gadgets. We will be discussing the major updates that are being rolled out in this event.

What did Apple announce at WWDC 2018?

Apple WWDC Event 2018 event was all about software updates, these are developer beta versions available after the event but later this autumn, software updated will be available to general public.

iOS 12

The presentation started focusing on Performance, which they say will double the performance speed like Apps opening twice as fast. This update will be available to all those devices which are currently running on iOS 11. Apple disclosed it’s plans for the AR also the plans for launching ARKit 2. Apple has also announced a new usdz file format for AR software.

The introduction of shared AR environment with multiple devices capable of seeing the same augmented reality environment from their own perspectives, allowing for true multiplayer experiences. Siri has also improved with this updates which allows you to add phrases of your choice to specific apps like finding sports scores. Siri will also suggest apps you might want to use based on your normal behavior, or even things like suggesting you turn on Do Not Disturb at the cinema, or call your friend on his birthday. You can switch off all lock screen notifications at night or during certain calendar events. An activity tracker now shares that you have spend this much time on a specific app. You can also limit the time limit to a certain app like Instagram and Facebook etc.

Animoji was another focus. Not only did Apple add a few new Animoji, along with new ‘tongue detection’, it introduced Memoji, customizable Animoji based on your own face You can even add them in as a sticker effect on top of photos in Messages. iBook is now changed to Apple Book along with a store design, addition of third-party navigation app to CarPlay also features Grouped notification. You can now connect with up to 32 participants on Facetime at a time.

macOS Mojave

macOS got a few big changes, and it is named as Mojave. The first feature share is the Dark Mode, which is suitable for the darker environments which change the User Interface to Black & Grey.

Another cool element incorporated with the picture editing and notetaking tools gives you a chance to initiate your iPhone from your Mac to open the camera, take a photograph or scan a document, and quickly save that picture straight into the document on your Mac

macOs Mojave, has worked a lot upon their security. Apple presented more grounded and more extensive default security settings for all applications that cover the camera and microphone, strict confinements on tracking cookies online, and more constrained sharing of subtle elements of your Mac setup online to limit ‘fingerprinting’ and tracking of your behaviour

watchOS 5

In Apple WWDC Event 2018 tvOS also got a couple of updates this along with a few updates for the Apple TV 4K. The big one is probably the introduction of Dolby Atmos surround sound for the TV 4K, along with free updates to Atmos within iTunes – which will have the biggest scope of Atmos content anywhere.

We were hoping to hear some more details about the upcoming Mac Pro Update for one thing: but Apple’s already said it won’t be ready to launch until 2019, maybe they will launch the Mac Pro for next year’s WWDC. Apple’s also said it will launch a new screen to go with the Mac Pro, but again, we might have to wait another year to learn more.
